Would you like to spend a fun weekend in a lovely traditional Finnish cottage? Year to year this is one of our most popular trips, and now is your chance to experience it as well!
ESN FINT will take you to a rustic cottage in the Kintulammi nature reserve and outdoor area to enjoy a weekend the Finnish way: cosy cottage, sauna by the lake, good food, friends, beautiful untouched nature and unforgettable experiences.
The cottage weekend is traditionally Finnish, some might even call it a "survival weekend": There is electricity and central heating in the main cottage, but no running water, flush toilets or outdoor lighting. In order to make it through the weekend everyone needs to help cook, chop wood, carry supplies and water etc.
We will leave from Tampere on 2nd of November and head back to civilisation in the afternoon of 4th of November.
The trip is physically active and includes a 5km walk to the cottage and back! During the weekend there’s a chance to go on a hike among the large pine and spruce trees of the reserve (some over 400 years old) and with luck perhaps you’ll spot a capercaillie or a Siberian flying squirrel!
Food for the whole weekend is included. All you'll need to bring is bedsheets+duvet cover or a sleeping bag as the cottage beds have mattresses, blankets and pillows.
Mökkiviikonloppu awaits! There is limited space on this trip, sign up opens next week at ESN FINT office hours! You can sign up for yourself + one friend, but you must have their FINT ESNcard with you!
