ESN FINT Language groups are discussion groups that meet regularly throughout the semester in cafes, pubs or any other location they choose at any time they choose. Each group is led by a native speaking person and the groups are open to everyone wishing to speak the language. Participants are expected to have at least basic skills in the language to be able to follow the conversation.
The groups are totally informal and are not related to the language classes of the University. They work on voluntary basis and their purpose is to offer you a possibility to train your spoken language skills and to meet other students who speak the same language.
Anyone who is interested in helping others to brush up their spoken language skills and is eager to make new friends can become a leader of their own native language group - you do not need any previous experience!
So far we had Finnish, English, German, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Chinese, Polish and Portuguese language groups available. We are all the time looking for new leaders for any other language group than the ones functioning at the moment.
If you’re interested in being one, please contact our Language Group Coordinator and we’ll help you get started!
